Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor for a Christchurch fabrication environment. You will oversee day-to-day workshop operations, guide a small team of fabricators and welders, and contribute to ongoing team growth.

Key duties include planning, quality control, safety compliance, and coordinating workflows to deliver projects on time and within budget; occasional hands-on work on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or coordinating workshop teams.
• Background in welding & fabrication environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong focus on health, safety, quality and compliance.
• Experience planning and scheduling workshop workloads.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule workshop activities and production requirements.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and technical support to fabricators and welders.
• Monitor quality control to meet specifications.
• Maintain emphasis on health, safety and compliance standards.
• Drive workshop systems, processes and continuous improvement.
• Read and interpret engineering/fabrication drawings.
• Coordinate workflow to deliver projects on time and budget.
• Assist with fabrication and welding as needed.
