Expressions of interest are invited for consideration for appointment as a Commissioner for the Eastern Bay of Plenty District Licensing Committee.
The Eastern Bay District Licensing Committee has responsibility for all local decisions on applications made under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, including premises licence applications, renewals, variations, suspensions and cancellations;
new applications and renewals of manager's certificates; applications for temporary authority; and special licences.
This is a regulatory decision-making role and your strengths will lie in your ability to function at a strategic and independent level, with a sound knowledge of the relevant legislation. You will have a strong community interest.
The Commissioner needs to be independent of the alcohol industry and have no current involvement or connections.
Appointments will be subject to satisfactory police and reference checks.
