Job summary

Team Recruitment is seeking an experienced Export Operator in Auckland to manage export shipments from booking to completion, covering both air and sea freight. You will coordinate with customers and overseas partners, arrange rates, prepare quotes, and keep clients updated throughout the shipment lifecycle.

You should be adept with CargoWise, highly organised, and able to juggle multiple shipments while maintaining excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Manage export bookings from start to finish.
• Handle air and sea freight operations end-to-end.
• Provide customers and overseas partners with freight options.
• Arrange carrier rates and quotes.
• Update customers throughout the shipment lifecycle.
• Enter shipment data in CargoWise accurately.
• Coordinate the full export process with shippers and carriers.
• Ensure all parties are informed and invoicing is completed when needed.
• Resolve issues to keep shipments moving.

We’re looking for an experienced Export Operator to join a busy and genuinely dynamic freight team.

What really stands out about this role is the variety. You’ll be working with a diverse mix of customers and overseas partners, so there’s always something different going on and plenty of interesting freight to keep things moving.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for managing export shipments from booking through to completion, across both air and sea freight.

Your day will include:

• Receiving export bookings from customers and overseas partners
• Managing both air and sea freight operations
• Providing customers and overseas partners with shipping and freight options to satisfy their requirements
• Arranging rates with carriers and obtaining competitive pricing
• Preparing and sending quotes to customers
• Keeping customers updated throughout the shipment process
• Accurately entering and maintaining shipment information in CargoWise, including consolidations, shipments and orders where required
• Coordinating the full export process from start to finish
• Liaising with shippers, carriers, overseas agents and other parties to keep everything moving
• Ensuring all parties are kept well informed throughout the process
• Completing shipment invoicing when required
• Problem solving when things don't go exactly to plan

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have solid experience in export freight forwarding, with exposure to both air and sea freight.

You’ll be someone who:

• Knows your way around the export process
• Is confident dealing with customers, carriers and overseas partners
• Has experience with rates and quoting
• Is comfortable using CargoWise
• Is organised and can juggle multiple shipments at once
• Communicates well and keeps people in the loop
• Enjoys being part of a team and appreciates a good laugh along the way
