Job summary

Access Community Health is seeking experienced Support Workers for in-home care in the Waimakariri area. You’ll provide compassionate, person-centred support, helping clients with daily living tasks, medications and mobility in their own homes.

Role covers diverse needs including palliative and dementia care, with training provided. Flexible hours and opportunities for development are offered to fit around study, family or other commitments.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
  • Spinal injury experience
  • Stoma Management experience
  • Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist
  • Experience administering prescribed medication
  • Love working with people and helping them thrive
  • Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person
  • Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or otherpeople‑facingroles
  • Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds
  • Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs
  • Own a smartphone
  • Have the right to work in New Zealand
  • Full/restricted driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support in people’s homes, mindful of culture, values, beliefs, routines and boundaries.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including palliative cares, bowel care, dementia and medication.
  • Support clients with mobility and transfer tasks using hoists where required.
  • Collaborate with families and care teams to ensure consistent, high-quality care.

Whakangungu| Training

We provide practical and online training during the first few weeks of employment. With theadded bonusof year-round training with regular refreshers and new modules to keep skills up to date.You’llbe supported through structured induction, ongoing training, refreshers, and clear development pathways.


MōhouAke | About You

The following skills and experience may be required depending on the specific client needs you are matched to.
