Job summary

Access Community Health | Uru Ātea seeks skilled Support Workers to provide safe, person‑centred in-home care. You will assist with daily living, including palliative and medication support, while honoring each client’s culture and values.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
  • Spinal injury experience
  • Stoma Management experience
  • Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist
  • Experience administering prescribed medication
  • Love working with people and helping them thrive
  • Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person
  • Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or otherpeople-facingroles
  • Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds
  • Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs
  • Own a smartphone
  • Have the right to work in New Zealand
  • Full/restricted driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support in people’s homes
  • Assist with daily living including palliative care, bowel care, dementia care, mental health, and medication administration
  • Support clients with culture, values, beliefs, routines, and boundaries
  • Adapt approaches to meet each person’s needs
  • Follow structured induction and ongoing training pathways

Whakangungu| Training

We provide practical and online training during the first few weeks of employment. With theadded bonus of year-round training with regular refreshers and new modules to keep skills up to date.You’llbe supported through structured induction, ongoing training, refreshers, and clear development pathways.

The following skills and experience may be required depending on the specific client needs you are matched to.
