Job summary

AFFCO is gearing up for our busy season and is assembling motivated teams to start at our Wairoa processing facility to help get NZ Beef and Lamb from our backyard to customers' plates.

Hours of work vary from 30–60 hours per week, with paid rates ranging from $25 to $42 per hour, plus any applicable allowances and overtime. AFFCO offers challenging work in a great team atmosphere and rewards employees for success.

Qualifications

• At least two years of relevant meat processing experience.
• Advanced knife work in a meat processing environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow specifications.

Responsibilities

• Remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
• Hygienically dress carcasses in preparation for primal cuts or further processing.
• Operate slaughter-floor equipment, such as cutters and flays.
• Trim and remove head meat and sever animal heads.
• Wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment) as provided by the Employer.
