Job summary

Ashburton Drummond Contracting Ltd is seeking an experienced Agricultural Machinery Operator to join our family-run team. This hands-on role covers varied tasks throughout the season, requiring reliability, self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and with others.

You will load, unload and transport product, perform daily machinery checks, cleaning and basic maintenance, and support contracting and harvesting duties.

Qualifications

• Must have the right to work in New Zealand.
• Full Class 1 driver’s licence.
• W, T, R endorsement an advantage.

Job Description

Drummond Contracting is a family-owned business specialising in niche small baling and feed trade. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Machinery Operator to join our team.

About the Role: This is a hands-on role offering variety throughout the season. It would suit someone who takes pride in their work, is self-motivated, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Tasks:

• Load, unload and transport product
• Carry out general contracting and harvesting duties
• Perform daily machinery checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance

Key Requirements:

• Previous agricultural contracting experience an advantage
• Must have the right to work in New Zealand
• Full Class 1 driver’s licence
• W, T, R (Wheels, Tracks & Rollers) endorsement an advantage
• Self-motivated and reliable
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and upskill
