Job summary

Wackrow's Joinery in Cambridge, North Island, is seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker/Joiner to join our skilled workshop. You'll create, assemble and install high-end timber joinery, turning plans into finished pieces. We value craftsmanship, attention to detail and strong teamwork.

Requirements include formal qualifications, 3+ years' experience, ability to read plans, and a NZ driver's licence. We offer stable full-time work in a modern workshop, with opportunities to contribute to premium

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications in cabinet making and/or joinery.
• At least three years' experience as a cabinet maker or joiner.
• Experience with diverse materials.
• Ability to read plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with joinery machinery; CNC experience is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Cabinetry installation experience.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• NZ driver's licence.

Wackrows Joinery has been crafting premium custom cabinetry and timber joinery for more than 50 years. Based in Cambridge, we're known for exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail and producing work we're proud to put our name to.

We're looking for an experienced Cabinet Maker / Joiner to join our talented workshop team.

This is a full-time, hands-on role creating, assembling and installing high-end custom cabinetry and timber joinery. You'll work on a wide variety of bespoke projects, working closely with our design and production teams to turn plans and drawings into beautifully finished work for our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Manufacturing and assembling custom cabinetry and timber joinery to a high standard.
• Reading and accurately interpreting plans, drawings and specifications.
• Working with a diverse range of materials, machinery and tools.
• Taking ownership of your work and completing jobs accurately and on time.
• Installing cabinetry and joinery on site.
• Working closely with our workshop, design and production teams.
• Identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
• Maintaining Wackrows' high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
• Contributing to a safe, clean and well-organised workshop.
• Helping reduce errors and rework and improve the way things are done.

What we're looking for

You're an experienced tradesperson who takes genuine pride in your workmanship. You enjoy creating quality work, pay attention to the details and like being part of a team where everyone contributes to getting the job done right.

Formal qualifications in cabinet making and/or joinery.

At least three years' experience as a cabinet maker or joiner.

Experience working with a diverse range of materials.

The ability to confidently read and interpret plans and specifications.

Proficiency with joinery machinery and tools.

Experience operating CNC machinery would be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

The ability to work independently and manage your time to meet deadlines.

Cabinetry installation experience.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

A strong commitment to health and safety.

A current NZ driver's licence.
