Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

North Island - Wellington – Wellington Central, North Island

  • Full-time fixed term/secondment based in the Central Region
  • Work with two genuinely great leaders, helping them stay organised, focused and on top of competing priorities.
  • Connect people, keep things moving and build great relationships with a wide range of teams, providers and stakeholders.

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.

We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations — from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.

Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to work alongside two experienced, engaging, and supportive leaders who are genuinely great to work with. They lead busy portfolios with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and are looking for an Executive Assistant who can act as a trusted partner, helping them navigate competing priorities while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations.

As their Executive Assistant, you will often be the first point of contact for stakeholders and a key connector across teams. You will be entrusted with highly confidential information and play a critical role in supporting the Group Managers to deliver their work effectively.

A key aspect of this role is quality assurance. The Executive Assistant is often the final set of eyes reviewing correspondence, reports, briefing papers, funding documentation, and communications before they are sent to providers, partners, stakeholders, and senior leaders.

This opportunity is being offered as a fixed-term/secondment through to 28 February 2027. While there is potential for the role to be advertised as a permanent position in the future, this cannot be guaranteed and applicants should apply on the basis of the secondment opportunity only.

About you

Previous experience supporting senior leaders or executives is essential. The successful candidate will have proven experience managing complex priorities, handling confidential information, exercising sound judgement, and producing high-quality documentation and correspondence.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has exceptional organisational skills and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates outstanding attention to detail.
  • Is confident handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Has strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Works proactively and anticipates needs before they arise.
  • Is comfortable working independently while remaining highly collaborative.
