Join Tātaki Auckland Unlimited’s Events team and play a key role in supporting Auckland’s vibrant events landscape. As an Event Facilitator, you’ll help enable world‑class events across the region, from community celebrations to large-scale activations, by ensuring events are safe, compliant, and successful. This is your chance to contribute to the cultural and social fabric of Tāmaki Makaurau. You’ll be part of a team that values inclusivity, adaptability, and collaboration, and you’ll contribute to the city’s major events that make Tāmaki Makaurau a destination of choice.

Te mahi: The role:

As an Event Facilitator, you’ll manage and coordinate the permitting and facilitation of events, supporting community, private, and commercial organisers to deliver exceptional experiences. You’ll work collaboratively across council teams and with external stakeholders to ensure each event meets regulatory requirements and enhances Auckland’s reputation as an events city.

We work closely with communities to support and permit events that connect and strengthen our communities. We're passionate about supporting events that contribute to a sense of belonging and pride in our neighbourhoods.

You’re a skilled events professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. With a strong understanding of event logistics and regulatory processes, you bring both people skills and operational know-how to ensure events run smoothly and safely.

In this dynamic and fast‑paced position, you will engage regularly with both internal and external stakeholders. As such, strong relationship‑building abilities and excellent communication skills are essential, supported by prior experience in relationship management. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to establish rapport with diverse individuals and maintain a strong commitment to customer service. Additionally, a process‑oriented, organized, and methodical approach is required, along with the ability to navigate ambiguity when necessary.

A tertiary qualification in events is preferred, as well as a minimum of three years' experience in a customer‑focused role and or direct involvement in an events environment. You must hold a full and clean driver’s license. An understanding of the complexities and functions of local government would be advantageous.

You will also bring:
