New Zealand Government, based at RNZAF Woodbourne, seeks a Learning Evaluator to support NZDF education providers and nationwide evaluation initiatives. The role focuses on planning, conducting, and reporting learning evaluations, with a strong emphasis on data trends and actionable recommendations.

Ideal candidates will hold a Level 6 certificate or higher in Training and Education, Evaluation, or Learning Design, and be adept at using Excel and MS Office.

• Demonstrated experience in conducting Kirkpatrick level 1-3 course or programme evaluations with application of current evaluation theory and methodology (particularly in relation to Adult Learning).
• Ability to link the Evaluation phase of the ADDIE cycle with the other phases.
• Level 6 certificate or higher qualification in Training and Education, Evaluation, or Learning Design
• Confident using Microsoft Office suite; intermediate/advanced Excel; quick to learn new IT systems.
• Highly organised with proactive workload management to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with a range of stakeholders; provide strong evaluation support.
• Team player with a positive attitude to supporting the NZDF customers.

New Zealand Defence College vision is to lead New Zealand Defence Force learning excellence, and their purpose is to achieve greater integration of the New Zealand Defence Force's individual training and education through the provision of standardised learning policy, enabling services and systems. The Learning Evaluator team are looking for someone who has experience evaluating training, and who is highly motivated, to join them. As an integral part of the team, you will provide individual training and education evaluation support to the Defence learning providers within RNZAF Woodbourne, and support evaluation projects nationwide. Your main tasks will involve:

• Planning learning evaluation;
• Implementing evaluations and reporting results;
• Analysing data trends;
• and providing data-driven recommendations to improve the NZDF learning system.

This role is based in RNZAF Woodbourne. We have two roles at market at the moment so please check you are selecting the right location when applying - thank you. The salary for this role ranges from $74,124 to $$82,239, inclusive of a 4% superannuation contribution. Appointments within this range are based on skills and experience.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the required level of government security clearance with the NZ Defence Force, you need to meet certain citizenship and residency criteria. Here's what you need to know:

• Low Level Security Clearance;
• You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
• At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last five (5) years.
• You must have a five (5) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
