Job summary

Aone Kitchen joinery is seeking an Estimator in Tauranga to drive cost estimates for residential and commercial kitchen and interior projects. You will own pricing from concept through quote, reading plans and specs to ensure accurate figures and alignment with design intent.

You will liaise with suppliers, manage subcontractor pricing, and monitor variations through project lifecycles, collaborating with designers and project teams to keep pricing aligned with design intent.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in estimating or quantity surveying, ideally in joinery, cabinetry, kitchen manufacturing, or a related building trade.
• Strong ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with Excel or similar tools for cost calculations and pricing.

As part of our continued growth, we're looking for an Estimator to join our team. This is a hands on role covering pricing across residential and commercial projects, with real ownsership over how quotes come together.

What you'll actually be doing:

• Preparing accurate cost estimates for kitchen and interior projects, residential and commercial
• Reading and interpreting kitchen plans, architectural drawings, and specifications
• Managing subcontractor costing and pricing for commercial tenders
• Liaising with suppliers to obtain and verify pricing
• Managing variations and pricing changes through a project's life
• Collaborating with designers and project team to keep pricing aligned with design intent

Must haves:

• Proven experience in estimating or quantity surveying, ideally in joinery, cabinetry, kitchen manufacturing, or a related building trade
• Strong understanding of reading technical drawings and specifications
• Confident with Excel or similar tools for cost calculations and pricing
• Experience managing multiple quotes and deadlines at once
• Understanding of material costing, markup structures, and supplier pricing
• Sharp attention to detail, this role lives and dies on accuracy

Nice to have:

• Experience with commercial tenders or subcontractor costing
• Background as a joiner, cabinet maker, or similar trade
