Job summary

Te Awamutu College seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Certificated teacher to join our Learning Support Department. The role focuses on supporting ESOL students and learners funded by ORS, helping them access the curriculum and develop language proficiency within personalised, inclusive learning programmes.

You will work with classroom teachers, LSAs, whānau and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for all learners, including those with IEPs.

Qualifications

• Experience with ESOL students and learners with additional learning needs.
• Knowledge of inclusive education practices and ability to support diverse learners.
• Experience using assessment information to monitor progress and inform teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging language and literacy programmes for ESOL learners.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, classroom teachers and whānau to support learner progress.
• Support students to access the curriculum and achieve success through personalised learning plans.
• Contribute to a supportive, student‑centred Learning Support Department.
