Job summary

Greater Wellington Regional Council in Wellington is seeking a candidate to join the Rural Activities team to support a diverse range of consenting work and gain exposure across the full resource consent process.

You will provide pre-application advice, process consent applications, monitor compliance and carry out site inspections, and respond to environmental incidents while engaging with landowners, industry, iwi and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or current study in planning/geography/science
• Knowledge of the RMA desirable but not essential
• Motivated, with common sense and a can-do attitude
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong customer service
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Responsibilities

• Providing pre-application advice on natural resource management
• Processing consent applications
• Monitoring compliance and site inspections
• Responding to environmental incidents and investigations
• Collaborating with landowners, industry, iwi, communities and stakeholders
