Job summary

ANZCO Foods is seeking an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our Canterbury Site team in Ashburton. This role will help ensure environmental compliance, support sustainable operations, and shape the site's environmental performance.

Reporting to the Site Co-Products and Environmental Performance Manager, you will coordinate environmental systems, monitor compliance, analyse data, and liaise with regulators and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline.
  • 3+ years in environmental, compliance or sustainability role.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and resource consent management.
  • Experience in manufacturing/meat/dairy environments.
  • Strong data analysis and capability to identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement environmental initiatives aligning with sustainability objectives.
  • Coordinate site compliance with resource consent requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with regulators, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Lead environmental improvement initiatives for compliance and performance.
  • Monitor site waste streams and ensure best practice management.
  • Analyse environmental and operational data to identify trends and risks.
  • Prepare accurate environmental reporting and meet deadlines.
  • Provide environmental guidance to operations managers.
  • Represent ANZCO in discussions with authorities.

ANZCO Foods is seeking an experienced and motivatedEnvironmental Coordinator to join our Canterbury Site team in Ashburton. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance, supporting sustainable operations, and helping shape the future environmental performance of our site.

Reporting to the Site Co-Products and Environmental Performance Manager, you will coordinate environmental systems, controls, and compliance activities across the site. You will work closely with operational teams, regulators, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure resource consent obligations are met while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

This role combines hands-on operational support, environmental monitoring, stakeholder management, data analysis, and project coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities will include
  • Implement environmental initiatives that support ANZCO's environmental strategy and sustainability objectives.
  • Coordinate site environmental compliance activities and monitor performance against resource consent requirements.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with operational teams, regulators, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Lead environmental improvement initiatives that enhance compliance, operational performance, and environmental outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage site waste streams, ensuring best practice environmental management.
  • Analyse environmental and operational data, identify trends and risks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare accurate environmental reporting and ensure reporting deadlines are achieved.
  • Provide environmental guidance and support to operational managers and site teams.
  • Represent ANZCO in discussions with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders as required.
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years' experience in an environmental, compliance, or sustainability-related role.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance requirements, and resource consent management.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, processing, industrial, meat, or dairy environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, assess risk, and make practical recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental best practice.
