Job summary

Fulton Hogan is seeking an Environmental Advisor to support environmental performance across our Manawatū/Whanganui operations. You’ll work with crews and leaders to ensure compliance, drive practical improvements and foster a culture of responsible, sustainable work practices.

You’ll provide day-to-day guidance, manage compliance obligations, and help build capability in environmental systems, with travel to multiple sites and a focus on minimizing impact while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in an environmental advisory role.
• Experience with environmental compliance management.
• Familiarity with environmental legislation and ISO 14001 systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coaching abilities.
• Current Class 1 driver licence and ability to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day advice and onsite support across environmental activities in the region.
• Support crews and leaders to meet consent conditions, legislative requirements, and Fulton Hogan procedures.
• Help improve site practices to minimize environmental impact.
• Assist with environmental incident investigations, corrective actions, and close-out of events.
• Deliver education, coaching and learning to build capability across environmental compliance and systems.

Job description

We’re looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our team in the Manawatū. You’ll help drive practical, compliant environmental outcomes across our sites, supporting crews and leaders to deliver Good Work the right way.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands‑on, multi‑site advisory role supporting environmental performance across our Manawatū/Whanganui operations. You’ll work alongside crews, leaders and stakeholders to make sure our sites meet environmental requirements and keep improving. It’s a role for someone who can build trust, give practical advice, and help turn good intent into good outcomes.

• Provide day‑to‑day advice and onsite support across environmental activities in the region.
• Support crews and leaders to meet consent conditions, legislative requirements, and Fulton Hogan procedures.
• Help improve site practices so work is carried out with minimal environmental impact.
• Assist with environmental incident investigations, corrective actions, and close‑out of events, near misses and observations.
• Deliver education, coaching and learning to build capability across environmental compliance and systems.
• 3 - 5 years’ experience in an environmental advisory role.
• Environmental compliance management experience, with a practical understanding of how to maintain standards, interpret requirements and support compliant outcomes on site.
• Familiarity with environmental legislation, regulatory compliance processes, and ideally ISO 14001 systems.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to coach, influence and keep things clear and straight up.
• Current Class 1 driver licence, and the ability to carry out the inherent requirements of the role, including regular travel to sites and working in outdoor operational environments.
