Job summary

Stevenson Aggregates seeks an Environmental Advisor to drive best practice environmental management across quarry operations in Auckland. This hands‑on role focuses on compliance, monitoring, and supporting sustainability initiatives across multiple sites.

You will work with an environmental team, quarry teams, and external stakeholders to spot risks, keep systems sharp, and turn good intentions into good work, with travel between Drury, Penrose and other sites in Auckland, Waikato, and the Bay

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification, ideally in Environmental Science, and ideally some experience in environmental compliance.
• Working knowledge of environmental legislation and standards, with the confidence to apply that knowledge in the real world.
• Strong planning, organisation, problem‑solving, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Great communication skills and a collaborative, low ego approach to working with people at all levels.

Responsibilities

We are on the lookout for an Environmental Advisor to join our team in Auckland and help drive best practice environmental management across our Quarry operations.

About the role

We're looking for an Environmental Advisor to help keep our quarry operations compliant, efficient, and moving forward. This is a hands‑on role where you will work closely with the wider environmental team, quarry teams, managers, and external stakeholders to support environmental compliance across the business. You will be trusted to spot risks early, keep systems sharp, and help turn good intentions into good work.

You will work alongside experienced teams to support a range of projects in an environment that's rewarding, challenging, and genuinely good to be part of. This role includes monitoring, reporting, auditing, and supporting sustainability initiatives, while staying across environmental legislation and compliance requirements.

Regular travel will be required between our Drury and Penrose offices, as well as sites across Auckland, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty as needed.

About you

You are a proactive and passionate Environmental Advisor who thrives in a dynamic, hands‑on environment. You bring strong communication and problem solving skills along with a solid understanding of environmental legislation and compliance practices. With a relevant tertiary qualification preferably in environmental science and a full class 1 driver licence, you're ready to hit the ground running.

You are organised, detail orientated and confident managing multiple tasks and priorities. Most importantly you are someone who leads by example and is committed to driving environmental excellence across all levels of the business.
