Job summary

Evolve Recruitment Group in Auckland, North Island, is seeking an experienced Enterprise & Security Architect to lead the architecture workstream for a major cyber security uplift. The role is Hamilton based with one day onsite weekly and the rest remote, offering exposure to a high-visibility transformation programme.

You will drive governance, design authority, and solution architecture decisions across security, cloud, and data domains, coordinating with stakeholders and vendors to deliver

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading enterprise and security architecture in large-scale transformations.
• Proven ability to govern complex architectures across multiple domains.
• Hands-on leadership with both strategic and detailed design capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own programme-wide architecture and solution decisions
• Establish and lead the Design Authority Board
• Develop and maintain target-state architecture, standards, principles, and patterns
• Ensure alignment between programme architecture and enterprise architecture direction
• Provide architecture leadership across security, infrastructure, cloud, identity, and data domains
• Review, challenge, and approve vendor designs and technology proposals
• Support architecture governance, delivery gates, and implementation planning
• Partner with programme leaders, project teams, and technical specialists to drive outcomes
• Assess security risks and ensure appropriate controls are incorporated into solution designs
• Guide architecture decisions across multiple concurrent workstreams

We're seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the architecture workstream for a large-scale cyber security transformation programme. You must have been a Security Architect recently in your career.

This is a highly visible role where you'll take ownership of architecture decisions across the programme, ensuring security, infrastructure, cloud, identity, and technology solutions align with both programme objectives and enterprise architecture standards.

Working closely with programme leadership, technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, you'll provide hands-on architecture leadership while driving governance, design authority, and strategic decision-making across a complex environment.

This opportunity will suit an architect who is equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and diving into detailed solution design when required.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Proven experience as both an Enterprise Architect and Security Architect
• Experience leading architecture across large transformation or cyber security programmes
• Strong architecture governance and Design Authority experience
• Hands-on approach to architecture with the ability to work at both strategic and detailed design levels
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to make pragmatic architecture decisions that support delivery outcomes
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments with legacy platforms and multiple vendors
• Relevant architecture and security certifications highly regarded
