Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking an Application Support Engineer within the Enterprise Services Operational Risk team to support critical security platforms across Westpac sites, protecting people and premises.

You'll work in an Agile squad, resolve incidents, collaborate with engineering teams, vendors and stakeholders, and gain exposure to a broad tech landscape from Windows servers to databases and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise applications in a Microsoft server environment, including incident investigation and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server and .NET technologies.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, system integration and associated fault diagnosis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve production issues methodically.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, system hardening and security practices in enterprise environments.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, SolarWinds, Splunk, Dynatrace and PagerDuty, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of IT service management practices, including Incident, Problem and Change Management.
• Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• A continuous improvement mindset and a strong focus on reliable services and customer outcomes.
