Job summary

Garin College invites applications for an innovative and enthusiastic English teacher to join our English faculty for the 2027 school year. The role is part-time (0.5 FTE) on a fixed-term basis from 28 January 2027 to 27 January 2028, covering a leadership position and a FWA.

The successful applicant will be a New Zealand registered teacher, familiar with the NZ Curriculum and NCEA, able to teach Years 7–15 and wharekura, and share in supporting subjects and school leadership.

Qualifications

  • Must be a New Zealand registered teacher familiar with the NZ Curriculum and NCEA.
  • Ability to teach both junior and senior English (Years 7–15 and wharekura).
  • Willing to state other supporting subjects and prior leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Teach English to Years 7–15 and wharekura as required.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to leadership and school culture.
  • Uphold and support the special character of the school as needed.

We seek an innovative and enthusiastic teacher of English to join our experienced and collaborative English faculty for the 2027 school year. The ability to teach junior as well as NCEA to Level 2 English is essential. Please state other supporting subjects, and roles and responsibilities previously held. The successful applicant for a non-Special Character position will accept the condition to support, uphold and be positively involved in the special character of the school.

The successful applicant will be a New Zealand registered teacher and familiar with the NZ Curriculum and NCEA.

Position starts term 1, 28 January 2027.
