Job summary

Otago Polytechnic invites applications for an Engineering Subject Matter Expert to join Capable NZ as a Facilitator in the Bachelor of Engineering Technology programme. This role supports adult learners, travels with them through their reflective journey, and delivers Work-Based Learning qualifications.

The position is part-time (18.75 hours/week), fixed-term until December 2027, largely remote with an office in Dunedin for onsite options.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of adult learning and work-based learning.
• Adaptable to learners’ needs and graduate profiles, policies and processes.
• Extensive experience in Engineering; leadership, management or adult education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate learners’ personal journey of reflection and self-assessment.
• Travel with learners through their programme journey in the Bachelor of Engineering Technology.
• Work with Capable NZ and Otago Polytechnic using Teams for remote delivery, with onsite option in Dunedin.
• Engage with learners via email, phone and face-to-face; build relationships and support outcomes.
