Job summary

Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is seeking a Tutor in the Automotive and Engineering Team to teach the Mechanical Engineering Level 4 Programme. You will deliver machining, fabrication and welding training and contribute to resource development and assessment.

You will travel between campuses within the region to support students, manage classes, and engage with recruitment and student care. The role requires industry experience and NZ driving license, with autonomy in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Trade certificates as a Fitter and Turner or Boilermaker Welder or equivalent.
• Experience and knowledge in Fabrication, Machining or Welding industries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Apps.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of pre-trade mechanical engineering training.
• Providing leadership in student management.
• Developing, planning and implementing student assessment, courses and resource material.
• Monitoring student progress and results and providing timely and accurate advice and support as required.
• Planning and timetabling for the programme and assisting with student recruitment.
