Waipapa Taumata Rau | The University of Auckland invites a Professional Teaching Fellow to join the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Design. You will teach environmental engineering at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and contribute broadly to civil engineering education and academic citizenship.

The role is permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) with NZ$105,791–$139,199 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering and PhD in Civil or Environmental Engineering (essential).
• Proven excellence in teaching, including leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate course design and delivery.
• Strong record of sub-doctoral research supervision at honours and masters level.
• Track record of engagement with industry and practical understanding of sector challenges.
• Forward-looking vision for civil and environmental engineering education globally.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity in teaching, research, and service.
• Professional membership (e.g., CMEngNZ) or eligibility is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Deliver research-informed, industry-relevant teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Design and enhance curricula to meet profession needs and accreditation standards.
• Incorporate emerging technologies and sustainable practices into teaching.
• Engage with industry, government, and technical societies to ensure teaching relevance.
• Contribute to service roles within Department, Faculty, and University.
