Job summary

Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin invites experienced Mechanical or Electrical engineers to join our Engineering Technologies team as educators. You’ll teach both theory and hands-on practices, drawing on real-world industry experience.

If you don’t hold a tertiary teaching qualification, we provide support to gain one, and opportunities to contribute to international programs with our Xiangtan partner. Travel to China is part of the role.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering qualification.
• Current or recent engineering experience.
• Strong practical and technical knowledge.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and engagingly.
• Willingness to travel to China at least twice a year for two months each time.
• Willingness to work towards a tertiary teaching qualification (support is available).

Responsibilities

• Teach theory and practical engineering skills as part of the Engineering Technologies team.
• Contribute to course development and assessment.
• Support ākonga (learners) with projects and learning journeys.
• Travel to China for program delivery with the team.
