Job summary

Eastern Institute of Technology in Hawke's Bay is seeking a permanent part-time Engineering Learning Facilitator (0.5 FTE) to support hands-on engineering education and enhance student learning. The role partners with tutors, lecturers and students to provide practical guidance, technical expertise and learning support that builds confidence and industry-ready skills.

Salary will be between $68,840 and $74,126 (pro-rated to FTE), with February 2027 as the expected start.

Qualifications

• Extensive engineering industry experience and practical expertise.
• Knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines and hands-on skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with practical learning activities and workshop-based training.
• Demonstrate safe use of engineering equipment, tools, software and materials.
• Help students develop and master technical engineering skills.
• Provide support to students facing learning challenges.
• Maintain safe, organized learning environments.
• Assist staff to prepare workshops, resources and activities.
• Track and record student learning progress.
• Collaborate with tutors to enhance student outcomes.
• Contribute to development of learning resources and improvement initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and industry stakeholders.
