Job summary

Meridian Energy is hiring an Engineering Manager to support the upgrade of the Waitaki Power Station. You will lead engineering across the project, coordinate inputs, and ensure risks, design and procurement align to safe, high-performing asset outcomes.

The role requires travel to site with a pool car provided, and collaboration with Project Manager, Construction Manager, Commercial Manager and OEMs to deliver a successful brownfield upgrade.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading engineering activities on large infrastructure or power projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate multiple workstreams.
• Strong understanding of engineering assurance, governance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall engineering leadership across the Waitaki Upgrade Project.
• Coordinate engineering input, manage resources and ensure design intent is followed through design, procurement, construction and handover.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable long-term asset outcomes.
• Travel to Waitaki site; manage interfaces with contractors, suppliers and OEMs.
