Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Hutt Valley seeks an Engineering Manager for Canterbury food processing site. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will oversee engineering strategy, compliance and continual improvements to enhance efficiency and output.

You will manage budgets, lead staff and drive best practices in quality engineering. The role requires 5+ years in a food processing environment and 2+ years as Eng/Maintenance Manager, with an engineering degree or trade certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred).
• OR Trade Certification equivalent.
• Min 5 years’ experience in a food processing site.
• Min 2 years’ experience as Eng/Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Engineering department.
• Preventive maintenance of production equipment.
• Reporting functions, management reviews, etc.
• Ensure quality engineering best practice.
• Generating and maintaining budgets.
• Hiring, training, mentoring & supervising staff.
