Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an Engineering Lead in Wellington (or Remote) to guide a small team of 3-4 Senior Developers. You’ll blend hands-on coding with technical design and people leadership to deliver customer-facing products.

You’ll influence architecture, tooling and engineering practices while collaborating with Product and Design to turn ideas into great experiences. Flexible remote options and competitive salary offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing software engineers.
• Strong commercial software development experience.
• The ability to remain hands-on and contribute technically.
• Experience working closely with Product, Design and other stakeholders.
• Good understanding of modern software architecture and engineering practices.
• A practical approach to solving problems and making decisions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to bring people with you.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with technologies such as React, Ruby on Rails and AWS, or similar.
• An interest in applying AI to improve engineering productivity.
