Job summary

Phocas Software in Christchurch is seeking an Engineer for the Engineering Enablement team to accelerate all other teams. You will identify bottlenecks, enhance CI/CD pipelines, observability, and infrastructure-as-code, and consult across product, platform, security, and operations.

You will help teams adopt AI tools and craft clear documentation. The role requires 3-4 years of software development, cloud infrastructure experience (preferably AWS), and strong communication to translate pain

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of software development experience.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS.
• Strong communication and writing skills for documenting and consulting across teams.
• Ability to unblock engineers and improve how teams deliver software.

Responsibilities

• Identify and remove patterns slowing teams down: tooling, automation, documentation, or better processes.
• Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines, observability stack, and IaC.
• Consult across product teams to understand pain points and deliver high-leverage fixes.
• Help engineering teams adopt AI tools and explore AI-enabled workflows.
• Write clear documentation that gets used by others.
• Switch between problems and technologies with agility.
