Job summary

MSD in Upper Hutt, New Zealand, is seeking an Engineering COE Lead to drive strategy and operational excellence across Capital Projects, Maintenance, Validation, Facilities and Shared Services for the site.

You will lead a team of about 35 staff, shaping site strategy and delivering safe, reliable assets and compliant operations aligned with the company’s manufacturing goals. The role reports to the Site Manager and requires strong leadership, cost awareness, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science or related discipline.
• Experience leading Engineering COE with multiple managers and specialists.
• Strong knowledge of GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Shape and sponsor site strategy; translate into COE priorities and projects.
• Develop and lead a team of 3 managers and 3 specialists; coach performance.
• Oversee assets, facilities, and capital investments to meet safety and cost targets.
• Maintain compliant validation, facilities, and shared services within GMP guidelines.
• Govern capital portfolio and ensure timely, on-budget project delivery.
