Job summary

MSD Australia & New Zealand seeks an Engineering COE Lead at the Upper Hutt site to combine strategic vision with operational excellence. You will oversee an Engineering Centre of Excellence, spanning Capital Projects, Maintenance and Reliability, Validation, Facilities and Shared Services.

You will lead a ~35-person team, shaping site strategy, managing safety, quality and cost, and ensuring compliant, reliable supply.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science, Biotechnology or related discipline.
Experience leading GMP-regulated maintenance, validation and capital projects is preferred.
Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and cost performance.

Responsibilities

Shape site strategy and oversee the Engineering COE, including Capital Projects, Maintenance and Reliability, Validation, Facilities and Shared Services.
Lead a multidisciplinary team of ~35 employees (3 managers + 3 specialists direct reports) and drive performance across safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Ensure integration of safety, quality systems and compliance with EHS requirements via leadership on the manufacturing floor.
Govern the capital portfolio to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery and asset lifecycle management.
Foster continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing practices and manage risk across operations.
