Job summary

CCS Disability Action is seeking a Community Support Worker to assist disabled people and whānau in the Far North (Kaitaia) to live independently and participate in their community.

Support is tailored to each Personal Plan, promoting confidence, skills, and inclusion within family and wider community. The role may involve physical tasks and requires a flexible approach and cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Requires passion for empowering disabled people and their whānau.
• Flexibility in hours to meet client needs.
• Must have transport to travel to clients' homes.
• Experience with Youth is advantageous.
• Experience providing one-to-one support in the community preferred.
• Willingness to undertake training in disability support.

Responsibilities

• Support disabled people to live in their homes and participate in community activities.
• Work guided by Personal Plans and goals.
• Deliver support in a culturally respectful and person-centred way.
• Assist with confidence-building, independence and inclusion within family and community.
