Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is seeking a full-time Employment Consultant for the IPS Service based in Henderson. This mobile, community-based role supports people accessing AOD and Mental Health services to obtain and maintain meaningful employment.

You will work alongside Waitematā Community Alcohol & Addiction Services in Takapuna, receiving referrals across the North Shore and Rodney districts. You will identify employment goals, support job placement, collaborate with clinicians, and

Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification is required (e.g., Human Resources, Psychology, Education, Business).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, clinicians, and employers.
  • High level of computer literacy and confidence using client management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients to identify employment goals and secure suitable employment opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians and treatment teams to ensure employment supports recovery and wellbeing.
  • Meet clients in community settings and provide individualised employment support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with businesses and employers across the North Shore and Rodney districts.
  • Advocate for clients and promote inclusive employment practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and effectively use client management systems.

We are seeking for a full-time Employment Consultant to join our Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Service based in Henderson. This mobile, community-based role supports people accessing Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) and Mental Health services to obtain and maintain meaningful employment. You will be based alongside Waitematā Community Alcohol & Addiction Services in Takapuna, receiving referrals from clinicians and working closely with clients, employers, and health professionals across the North Shore and Rodney districts.

You will:

  • Support clients to identify employment goals and secure suitable employment opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians and treatment teams to ensure employment supports recovery and wellbeing
  • Meet clients in community settings and provide individualised employment support
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with businesses and employers across the North Shore and Rodney districts
  • Advocate for clients and promote the benefits of inclusive employment practices
  • Maintain accurate documentation and effectively use client management systems

You are passionate about supporting people to achieve their employment goals and understand the positive impact meaningful work can have on wellbeing and recovery.

You will bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Human Resources, Psychology, Education, Business)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of an Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Employment Consultant
  • Previous employment consulting, vocational support, recruitment, or related experience preferred
  • The ability to build and maintain professional relationships with employers, clients, clinicians, and community stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A high level of computer literacy and confidence using client management systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with the North Shore and Rodney districts would be advantageous
  • Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR (or be willing and able to complete this)
