Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is seeking a registered Mental Health Professional to join the WDHB Mainstream Service in Henderson on a fixed-term basis to cover parental leave until 16 July 2027. This full-time role provides recovery-focused support to tāngata whaiora and whānau to achieve wellbeing and independence.

Qualifications

  • Registered health professional with APC and current practising certificate.
  • Experience in mental health, addiction, disability, or community-based settings.
  • Knowledge of recovery-focused, person-centred approaches.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and maintain documentation.
  • First Aid certification including CPR, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver recovery-focused support through assessment, planning, wellbeing monitoring and risk management.
  • Build positive relationships with tāngata whaiora and whānau to support goals.
  • Support development of daily living skills and community connections.

We are looking for a Mental Health Professional to join our WDHB Mainstream Service in Henderson on a fixed-term basis to provide parental leave cover until Friday, 16 July 2027. This full-time role works Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, providing recovery-focused support to tāngata whaiora (people seeking wellness) and whānau to achieve their goals, maintain wellbeing, and strengthen their independence within the community.

You will:

  • Deliver recovery-focused support through assessment, planning, wellbeing monitoring, and risk management.
  • Build positive relationships with tāngata whaiora and whānau and support progress toward meaningful goals.
  • Support the development of daily living skills, community connections, and greater independence.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, community providers, and key stakeholders to provide coordinated care.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation, contribute to clinical reviews, and support safe service delivery.
  • Provide clinical guidance and coaching to colleagues while working in a culturally responsive way aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi).

You are a compassionate and experienced registered health professional who values recovery-focused and person-centred practice. You enjoy building trusted relationships, working collaboratively with others, and supporting people to achieve outcomes that are meaningful to them and their whānau.

You will bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or a related discipline.
  • Current professional registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
  • Experience working in mental health, addiction, disability, or community-based support services.
  • Knowledge of recovery-focused practice, person-centred approaches, and community support networks.
  • Strong communication, documentation, assessment, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR, or be willing and able to complete this.
