Job summary

Hato Hone St John invites applications for an Emergency Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician to join our team in the Rodney Area. This is a Fixed Term position until 31 December 2026, working a 4x4 DDNN relief roster covering Otamatea, Mangawhai and Wellsford stations.

You will work alongside a qualified Ambulance Officer, drive the ambulance and assist with patient care under supervision, ensure vehicle and equipment readiness, and perform other relevant administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a First Responder qualification or EMT certification.
• Clean driving record.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-focused skills.
• Commitment to the wellbeing of others.
• Ability to work under pressure as part of a team.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand (citizenship, permanent residency or visa).

We have an opportunity for an Emergency Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician to join our team in Rodney Area!

This is a Fixed Term position until 31 December 2026, working a 4x4 DDNN relief roster. Covering Otamatea, Mangawhai, and Wellsford stations.

In this role you will:

• Workalongside a qualified Ambulance Officer
• Drive the ambulance and assistwith the delivery of patient care (under supervision)
• Ensure operational readiness of vehicle and equipment
• Complete otherrelevant administrative tasks

We are looking for individuals who are adaptable and can settle into our team with ease, work alongside both paid and volunteer staff and provide a high level of care to our patients. The ideal applicants would have a positive demeanour, willingness to contribute to station portfolios, and champion clinical excellence.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of a Hato Hone St John First Responder qualification or ATP of EMT
• Excellent driving record
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
• A genuine commitment to the wellbeing of others
• The ability to work under pressure as part of a team
• New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency or work visa
