Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora seeks a Health Care Assistant for Nelson ED. The role involves supporting nursing staff, providing one-to-one patient observation and assisting with care delivery across a rotating 0.9 FTE roster (Mon-Sun).

Shift times include 0700-1530, 1445-2315 and 2245-0715, with a focus on safe, compassionate patient care and whanau engagement. Experience in health care is preferred but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum English and Maths at Year 11 level or equivalent.
• NZQA Level 3 qualification in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent.
• Home Carer Certificate or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in care delivery and patient observation.
• Work within the team and follow directions from RN/EN staff.
• Support patients and whanau, maintaining safety and dignity.
• Participate in rostered shifts across mornings, afternoons and nights.
