Delta Utility Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Inspector for a Dunedin-based role in the Electricity Distribution Industry. You will inspect electrical connections, review alterations to supply, and ensure compliance with Codes of Practice, Acts, and Regulations.

You will investigate applications, report on incidents, and collaborate with contractors, customers, and regulators to deliver safe outcomes. A strong safety culture and autonomous work style are essential.

Qualifications

• Registration as Electrical Inspector with a current Practising License.
• Full Class 1 NZ driver's license.
• Extensive knowledge of Electrical Regulations and Codes of Practice.
• 5+ years' relevant industry experience.
• Endorsements: Hazardous Areas, Medical Cardiac Protected Areas and Mains Parallel Generation Systems.
• Experience with PV installation inspections.
• Experience with HV installation inspections.
• Experience working on the Aurora network.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical inspection and associated services across prescribed work.

As an Electrical Inspector within our Power and Communication Services team, you’ll provide electrical inspection and associated services across a range of prescribed work. You’ll investigate connection applications, support efficient alterations to electricity supply, and administer the relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice. You’ll also inspect and report on electrical accidents and fires, and work closely with contractors, customers and regulatory agencies to deliver safe, compliant outcomes.

You’ll be a practical, customer-focused inspector who keeps pace with changing standards and enjoys working autonomously while staying connected to a supportive team. You bring sound judgement, clear communication, and a strong commitment to health and safety in every decision you make.

What you need to succeed

Essential:

• Registration as an Electrical Inspector with a current Practicing License.
• Full Class 1 NZ driver's license.
• Extensive knowledge of Electrical Regulations and Codes of Practice.
• 5+ years' relevant industry experience.
