Job summary

PowerNet in Queenstown is seeking a Supply Electrician to join our Technical Team. You’ll construct, install, maintain and improve electrical infrastructure across PowerNet’s networks while delivering high-quality fault response and inspections.

With a NZ Registered Electrician status, a National Certificate in Electrical Supply Level 4, and a current Class 1 licence, you’ll bring hands-on HV capability, strong report writing, and a safety‑minded, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• National Certificate in Electrical Supply Level 4 or equivalent.
• Registered Electrician with at least 3 years’ experience in the electricity industry, preferably with high voltage capability.
• Current Class 1 Drivers license
• Computer literate and an understanding of the basic Microsoft Office Suite of products.
• Ability to review, develop and implement changes with industry technology.
• Competent to carry out commissioning and maintenance tasks on electricity supply industry systems
• A good level of written and oral communication skills with proven experience in writing reports on faults, maintenance and commissioning of electricity supply industry equipment.

Responsibilities

About You – Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone who has:
