Job summary

Horizon Services Limited in Palmerston North seeks a qualified Distribution Lineman to construct, maintain and repair overhead and underground electricity networks. You will work outdoors as part of a collaborative field services team to ensure reliable power with safety, quality and customer service at the forefront.

To be successful you must hold NZ EWRB licence, NZ Line Mechanic Qualification and a current NZ driver's licence with heavy-vehicle entitlement, plus experience on up to 33kV

Qualifications

• NZ EWRB Practising Licence required.
• NZ Line Mechanic Qualification required.
• Current unrestricted NZ manual driver's licence, including heavy traffic.
• Experience on electricity distribution systems up to 33kV.
• Strong construction, maintenance and fault response skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and network drawings.
• Confidence working at heights and in varied outdoor conditions.
• Strong customer focus and commitment to quality outcomes.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach to health and safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Installing, repairing and maintaining electricity distribution infrastructure.

• Stringing, testing, repairing and replacing electrical conductors and cables.

• Responding to faults and carrying out emergency network repairs.
• Completing required documentation, as-builts and records accurately and on time.
• Maintaining vehicles, plant and equipment to required standards.
• Supporting trainees and contributing to a positive team environment.

About the role:

As a Distribution Lineman based in Palmerston North, you'll play a key role in the construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electricity distribution networks. Working as part of a collaborative field services team, you'll help ensure reliable power supply to customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and customer service.
