Job summary

Unison Contracting is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our Hawke's Bay team. This permanent, full-time role includes a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week and focuses on construction, installation, maintenance, testing and repair of electrical equipment across the distribution network.

You will work on critical infrastructure, collaborate with customers and contractors on-site, and mentor apprentices as needed.

Qualifications

• Current EWRB registration as an Electrician with a valid Practising Licence.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, commission, test, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and substation equipment.
• Fault-finding, servicing, and maintenance of network assets including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, reclosers, and sectionaliser equipment.
• Install and maintain temporary generation equipment, working closely with customers and contractors on-site.
• Support the safe and reliable operation of the electricity network through regular inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
• Provide technical advice and support to colleagues, contractors, and project teams.
• Assist with project delivery, documentation, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and support Apprentice Electricians when required.
