Job summary

Connetics is seeking an Electrical Fitter to join our Christchurch team. In this hands-on role you will construct, maintain and repair equipment across Canterbury's electricity network, ensuring safe and reliable power delivery to communities.

You'll work on substations and broader infrastructure, read technical drawings, and follow rigorous safety standards. The role includes standby roster participation, standard hours, and opportunities for training, licensing support, and career progression.

Qualifications

We're looking for an Electrical Fitter to join our team in Christchurch. In this hands‑on role, you'll help construct, maintain, and repair equipment across Canterbury's electricity network, ensuring power is delivered safely and reliably to the communities we serve.

About the Role

As an Electrical Fitter, you'll work across a variety of construction, maintenance, and fault response activities on Connetics' substation network. Working alongside an experienced team, you'll help deliver high-quality work while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service.

You'll be involved in:

• Constructing, installing, and maintaining substation equipment
• Carrying out planned maintenance and responding to faults
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Participating in the standby roster when required

About You

You'll thrive in this role if you have:

• Registration as an Electrician with a current New Zealand practising licence
• Experience working on electrical infrastructure or substations
• A current New Zealand driver's licence
