Job summary

Northpower is seeking a skilled Electrical Fitter to join our team in New Zealand. You will construct, install and maintain electrical equipment across substation and distribution environments, meeting customer requirements and complying with industry regulations.

A tool of trade vehicle is provided for work use only. You will be part of a safety-forward team with opportunities to grow in electrical engineering, fault-finding and diagnostics, contributing to reliable power networks.

Qualifications

• A certificate in Electrical Engineering or currently working towards one (advantageous).
• EWRB Registration - Electrician (required).
• Experience in substations (11kV-110kV) and/or distribution network equipment (400V-11kV).
• Strong focus on safety and compliance.
• Team player with good communication and a positive attitude.
• Logical thinker with fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Aptitude across mechanics and electronics.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Physically capable for on-site work.
• High level of accuracy and pride in delivering quality results.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and maintaining electrical equipment to meet customer requirements across substation and distribution environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical regulations, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. A tool of trade vehicle is provided for the role but is limited to work use only.

Role Responsibilities

Electrical Fitting:

• Construct, install and maintain electrical equipment to meet customer requirements in substation and distribution environments.
• Carry out all electrical work in line with industry regulations and company standards.
• Keep accurate records, documentation and reports for all work completed.
