Job summary

WORK - The Recruitment Co. Auckland is working with a well-established electrical contractor to hire an Electrical Estimator for their Auckland team.

This role covers the full tender process, reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents, preparing accurate take-offs and detailed estimates, and helping the business secure profitable work. You will work with an experienced commercial estimating team, apply strong numeracy and communication skills, and contribute to a collaborative

Qualifications

• Previous experience within the electrical industry.
• Understanding of commercial electrical installations, materials and construction methodologies.
• Experience in estimating, pricing or tendering.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Good commercial awareness.
• Confidence interpreting drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• A practical, organised and collaborative approach.
• Electrical trade experience combined with a desire to move further into estimating would also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, tender documents and project requirements
• Completing accurate take-offs and preparing detailed project estimates
• Assessing labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements
• Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Identifying potential commercial risks and opportunities during the tender process
• Preparing competitive tender submissions within required timeframes
• Communicating with suppliers, clients and internal stakeholders throughout the estimating process
• Maintaining accurate tender documentation, pricing information and project records
• Supporting handover from estimating through to project delivery where required

We’re working with a well-established electrical contractor looking to add an Electrical Estimator to their Auckland team.

This is an opportunity to join an experienced commercial team delivering a strong pipeline of electrical projects across the Auckland market. You’ll work across the full tender process, assessing project requirements, building accurate pricing and helping the business secure and deliver profitable work.
The role would suit someone with a solid understanding of the electrical industry who is looking to further develop their estimating career within a supportive and established environment.

The Role Working alongside the wider estimating and project teams, your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, tender documents and project requirements
