Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Regional Transport Manager to oversee operations in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, managing a fleet of vehicles and a team of drivers to ensure safe, efficient movement of goods across the region.

You will develop transport strategies aligned with company objectives, lead and develop teams, ensure regulatory compliance, monitor performance and budgets, and contribute to national transport strategy.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in transport management or logistics supervision.
• Experience managing a sizable fleet and drivers.
• Knowledge of SA transport legislation and safety standards.
• Proficient in fleet management software and planning tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs.
• Residency or familiarity with Queenstown, Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regional transport operations, including fleet, dispatch, and route planning.
• Lead, train, and motivate drivers and transport staff for safety and performance.
• Develop transport policies to ensure legal and safety compliance.
• Monitor fleet maintenance, fuel efficiency, and cost reduction measures.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods across the region.
• Analyze transport data to identify trends and improvements.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and suppliers.
• Conduct safety audits and investigate accidents, implementing corrective actions.
• Manage the regional transport budget and meet financial targets.
• Contribute to the development of national transport strategies.
