Job summary

InterContinental Wellington is seeking a Duty Engineer to join our maintenance team, performing general hotel and building maintenance to high standards that meet guest expectations. You will carry out scheduled inspections, respond to department requests, and investigate faults with a focus on quality and safety.

• General maintenance experience or background in building upkeep.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with guest interaction.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends.

Your Role

Assist theMaintenance teamwith general hotel and building minor maintenance and ensure that work is completed to a high standard that aligns with the expectations and satisfaction of our customers.

• Carry out scheduled inspections
• General building minor maintenance repairs
• Respond to requests from departments throughout the day
• General building maintenance & repairs
• Investigate equipment for faults

What You'll Need

• General maintenance experience
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
• Strong communication skills! You will be building working relationships with people across the hotel team and interacting with guests
• Flexibility - you are required to be available for rotating shifts, including weekends.
