Job summary

Linde New Zealand Ltd seeks a driver trainer/leader in Hamilton to train and mentor drivers, ensure NZ transport regulations compliance, and oversee pre-employment drives and onboarding, plus yearly assessments.

You will lead post-incident training, coach on speed, fatigue management and driving style, and perform audits of logbooks, fatigue management, and sites. Manage training records and external opportunities, with promotion recommendations as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in driver training or a leadership role in the gases industry.
• Class 2–5 license with Dangerous Goods endorsement.
• Strong understanding of compliance requirements, including NZTA fatigue management
• Coaching and mentoring skills to foster driver improvement
• Expertise in audits and compliance verification processes is required for this role
• Ability to analyse driving data to identify high-risk behaviours
• Commitment to fostering a positive and resilient workplace culture
• Skills that support driver development and operational excellence

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor drivers, ensuring compliance with New Zealand transport regulations
• Engage in pre-employment drives, new driver onboarding, and ongoing training including yearly assessments
• Conduct post-incident training and assessments, supporting Performance Improvement Plans
• Coach drivers on speed, camera use, fatigue management, driving style, and EROAD star ratings
• Perform audits on logbooks, fatigue management, customer sites, and trucks is part of your role
• Manage training sessions and records, and coordinate external training opportunities
• Recommend drivers for promotions and attend serious incidents to provide advice
