Job summary

Linde New Zealand Ltd is seeking a Driver Trainer in Hamilton to develop top-tier drivers and foster a safety-first culture. You will train and mentor drivers, conduct pre-employment drives, onboarding, and ongoing yearly assessments, and lead post-incident training with an emphasis on compliance with NZ transport regulations.

You will apply coaching skills to improve driving performance, audit logbooks and fatigue management, coordinate external training, and support promotions while upholding

Qualifications

• Experience in driver training or a leadership role in the gases industry.
• Class 2 - 5 license with Dangerous Goods endorsement.
• Strong understanding of NZTA fatigue management requirements.
• Coaching and mentoring skills to foster driver improvement.
• Audits and compliance verification processes experience.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor drivers, ensuring compliance with New Zealand transport regulations.
• Engage in pre-employment drives, new driver onboarding, and ongoing training including yearly assessments.
• Conduct post-incident training and assessments, supporting Performance Improvement Plans.
• Coach drivers on speed, camera use, fatigue management, driving style, and EROAD star ratings.
• Perform audits on logbooks, fatigue management, customer sites, and trucks.
• Manage training sessions and records, and coordinate external training opportunities.
• Recommend drivers for promotions and attend serious incidents to provide advice.
