Job summary

Linde New Zealand Ltd seeks a Driver Trainer in Hamilton to develop top-tier drivers and promote a culture of safety. You will lead training sessions, conduct assessments and ensure regulatory compliance across NZTA standards.

Ideal candidates have leadership in driver training, a Class 2-5 license with DG endorsement, and strong communication skills to drive continuous improvement and safe driving behaviours within our team.

Qualifications

• Experience in driver training or a leadership role in the gases industry.
• Class 2–5 license with Dangerous Goods endorsement
• Strong understanding of NZTA fatigue management
• Coaching and mentoring skills to foster driver improvement
• Audits and compliance verification experience
• Effective communication for training delivery
• Ability to analyse driving data to identify high-risk behaviours
• Commitment to a positive workplace culture

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor drivers, ensuring compliance with NZ transport regulations
• Lead pre-employment drives, onboarding and yearly assessments
• Conduct post-incident training and assessments; support Performance Improvement Plans
• Coach on speed, camera use, fatigue management, driving style, and EROAD ratings
• Perform audits on logbooks, fatigue management, sites and trucks
• Manage training sessions and records; coordinate external training
• Recommend drivers for promotions; advise during serious incidents
