Job summary

WasteCo NZ Ltd is seeking a reliable Driver to join the Oamaru team on a part-time basis. The role involves safe collection and transport of waste and recycling, operating a range of vehicles, and providing excellent service to customers.

You will report to the Operations Manager and work with our Solid Waste team. The position offers a minimum of 24 hours per week and is ideal for outdoor work, machinery operation, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must hold Full Class 1, 2 and 4 Driver Licences.
• Positive, friendly attitude and strong work ethic.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work safely and follow procedures.
• Basic computer or iPad skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate rear loader, side loader and gantry trucks.
• Complete waste and recycling collections safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily vehicle pre-start checks and logbook entries.
• Provide excellent customer service and address collection issues promptly.
• Complete required paperwork accurately.
• Attend toolbox meetings with a safety focus.
• Assist with general labouring duties as required.
• Occasionally travel to Timaru for operational requirements.

About the Role

As a Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste and recycling materials. You'll operate a range of vehicles and equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard. The role reports to the Operations Manager and works closely with our Solid Waste team.

• Conduct daily vehicle pre-start checks and logbook entries
• Provide excellent customer service and address collection issues promptly
• Complete required paperwork accurately
• Attend toolbox meetings and maintain a strong safety focus
• Assist with general labouring duties as required
• Occasionally travel to Timaru for operational requirements

What you'll Bring
