Job summary

Downer Invercargill is seeking a Driver/Operator to join our sealing team, driving and operating heavy equipment on civil projects.

You will perform site preparation, operate machinery such as sprayers and trucks, and help upgrade roads and pathways while enjoying outdoor work in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Full Class 4/5 Driver Licence at minimum.
• Practical work experience in road construction and civil environments.
• Passion for working outdoors and staying physically fit.
• Commitment to safe work practices and site safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of machinery, including sprayers and trucks.
• Contribute to civil works and site preparation.
• Assist in upgrading and maintaining roads, pathways, and connections in the Invercargill region.

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

As a Driver Operator for one of the largest infrastructure business' in New Zealand, you will be involved in exciting projects requiring you to pick up civil work, the operation of heavy machinery and preparation of sites. You will be tasked with undertaking a range of civil activities operating a range of machinery such as sprayers and trucks.

If you are physically fit and enjoy spending your days outdoors and on your feet, this could be the position for you.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

You’ll be a team player and confident operating independently as required. You’ll also have:

• A Full Class 4/5 Driver Licence at minimum
• Have practical work experience in road construction and civil
• A passion for working outdoors and keeping physically fit
• Show commitment to safe work practices
